Vibe Magazine is Done
Posted on June 30th, 2009 No commentsAs a reflection of the roller-coaster-type economy, the magazine publishing industry is slowly disappearing and rapidly losing money. I’m a freelance writer for various magazines so this affects me personally. But what the L.A. Times just posted on their site was shocking. Vibe Magazine is closing down:
Although the magazine had already implemented cost-cutting measures, including layoffs and a four-day work week, staff today were told that its run was over.
Vibe Magazine was as pertinent to any hip-hop head as XXL and Source. So this is a great loss in the industry.

10 Days of iPhone 3GS
Posted on June 29th, 2009 No commentsApple shipped me the iPhone 3GS approximately 10 days ago, and I absolutely love it. I had the 2G iPhone for over a year, and it’s definitely a big jump. Plus, you can’t deny the video feature and the super-fast processor!
Here’s a video I shot with the 3GS:

Michael Jackson Tribute
Posted on June 29th, 2009 No commentsFor some reason, I totally missed the new Michael Jackson tribute made by those crazy Filipino prisoners. Maybe I was too out of it after MJ’s passing. Nonetheless, it’s all new to me so check it:

Fight Night Round 4
Posted on June 23rd, 2009 2 commentsI just purchased my copy of Fight Night Round 4, which means two things:
- My thumbs will be sore tomorrow morning.
- I will not sleep.
Don’t forget that two Filipinos are in the game: Manny Pacquiao (of course) and Nonito Donaire.

Free Euna Lee and Laura Ling!
Posted on June 3rd, 2009 1 commentI went to the Euna Lee and Laura Ling vigil tonight at the Promenade in Santa Monica. They’re the two Current TV reporters who were caught trespassing in North Korea, currently detained in prison, and facing trial. Let’s all hope they get home safely. Whatever they’re going through, stuck in some crazy country who America currently has beef with, is beyond my comprehension:

My Fauxlaroid Camera
Posted on June 3rd, 2009 No commentsMy favorite app on the iPhone is, above question, the ShakeIt Photo which remixes the images you take with the crappy iPhone camera into svelte Polaroid-type photos with frame and all. Ever since I downloaded it for a sweet $0.99, I’ve been defaulting all my camera needs to my iPhone. Apologies to my Casio EX-S10.
Here are some of my favorites, with more to come in later posts (click on photos for location and info):

Conan O’Brien is BACK!
Posted on June 2nd, 2009 No commentsHe’s in Los Angeles and he’s on an hour earlier than what I was used to! I can’t wait to get tickets.
Life is good!
