A great tribute to the Tom Tolberts, Travis Knights, and Danny Ferrys of the world — set to a dope Kanye West beat.

    Uniqlo Tokyo Map

One of the main reasons why I go to New York on a yearly basis is the shopping. From Nike Sportswear to Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream to DQM, shopping for street wear is a close second only to the other main reason why I go to New York: the food. But that’s for a different post.

The one store that’s a must-go is Uniqlo. A Japanese-based apparel company, Uniqlo mostly features minimalist-styled high-fashion that’s priced for the relatively poor. Let’s just say that if American Apparel and H&M and Banana Republic had a weird threesome and somehow spawned a child that borrowed from all three clothing genes, Uniqlo would be that child.

Recently, Uniqlo Japan created an interactive feature on their site that blew my mind away. Click on the pictures. You’ll not only want to shop at Uniqlo after watching, but you’ll probably want to visit Japan as soon as possible.

This video makes me want to:

    1. Move to New York.
    2. Get a fixed gear bike.
    3. Ride a fixed gear bike up and down Manhattan, dodging crazed taxi cabs.

This video DOES NOT, however, make me want to:

    1. Wear skinny jeans.
    2. Sport messenger bag.

BAPE recently launched a new site for the US, which means two things:

    1. I can now buy online.
    2. I will now be bankrupt.

    Check it:

Maybe it’s the nagging cough, the 3 hours of sleep, the unwarranted stress, or just the long 3-day weekend. All I know is that whatever this dog is feeling, I can totally relate:

The Hundreds street wear clothing company is featured in today’s L.A. Times, talking about the struggle between expanding the brand and maintaining the street cred that put them on the map.

This is the success story any clothing brand aspires to achieve, and it’s always great to see a the L.A. Times doing pieces on the not-so-mainstream. The question, though, remains. Will The Hundreds turn into the Ed Hardy of the street wear fashion world? Exposure like this can catapult them to a different level.

    Let’s hope not.
